Breast of Canada Promoting
Women's Health

Net Proceeds $$$

Net Proceeds from the Breast of Canada calendar equals the money that is left over AFTER the hard costs of creating, printing, promoting and selling the calendar have been covered.

Publisher Sue Richards volunteers much of her time and creative energy to the project as does writers Liz Armstrong and Sean Secord. Proofers Kathe Gray and Katie Saunders, website hosts Barking Dog Studio's and web wench Sandy Walsh all lend a hand. Gareth at Lind Design provides exceptional service at a deeply discounted rate.

Dr. JP Brunet and Diane Brunet joined the team in 2006 and now sell calendars to everyone they know. Thanks to all the great photographers who enter our photo contest. And much appreciation goes to our Prince of Printer, Ron Ingle from Barney Printing. He always gets us fabulous paper at less than list price.

Calendars are sold at full retail and various wholesale rates. Breast of Canada is steadily gaining a loyal client base. We hope to continue publishing for many years to come.

One customer credited the calendar with 'saving her life'. She was inspired to do a Breast Self Examination and found a lump that turned out to be cancerous. How does one put a dollar value on that??

2005

Printed: 3,500 copies
Sad News:
I will admit to feeling disappointed. Although I know the real strength of Breast of Canada has proven itself to be an educational tool and proactive, breast health awareness builder, I was attached to the idea of raising big bags of money too. I’m trying to remind myself that money isn’t everything. And that perhaps the calendar has a deeper cultural purpose. Guess time will tell. It’s a lot of volunteer time, that’s for sure.

Glad News: The net proceeds have been directed to the Canadian Breast Cancer Network.

Total number of Calendars Sold: 2416
Gross $ Sales: $41,919.94
Gross Expenses: $40,764.15
Net Proceeds: $1,155.79

2006

2007

Printed: 2700 copies
